My friends Bella and Jake invited me and my owner for a few days to the Outer Banks on
Ocracoke Island.
It was a long 7 hour drive as I was stuffed on top of suit cases, blankets and coolers full of beer and food but the trip was worth it.
The first day I ran up and down the beach until my heart was content. I loved the salty wind blowing in my face. I stayed away from the waves and created circles in the sand.
I even got my own room at Sandy Paws Bed & Biscuit Inn for four legged doggies like me.
The first day my owner slept in and one of the other owners came and walked me. I pretended like I did not want to go on a walk and dragged my feet until they picked me up and carried me back to the kennel. After breakfast I enjoyed playing on the beach, I even went in the water (not by choice).
The next day, I took my first boat ride to remote island called
Portsmouth.
I love running free without a leash.
The wind and sand was blowing feriously and we hiked 2 miles along the beach and another mile through desert and marshy areas to the abandoned village. I hates going through the marsh as I didn't want my feet wet.
In the marsh lands Jake and Bella got in a fight with a local raccoon.
Luckily know one was hurt except for maybe the the raccoon. Usually Jake is tough and barks real loud but this time the raccoon was on Jake's back. Jake's owner had to punch the raccoon in the head to get it off of Jake's back. I watched the raccoon limp away and then I was put back on my leash in case any other island creatures were roaming around.
This trip was awesome and can’t wait to go to the beach again. Bella (left), me in the middle and Jake on the right.
